Biomutant Gets Some New Gameplay
Biomutant is an upcoming action role-playing video game developed by Swedish developer Experiment 101 and published by THQ Nordic. It is scheduled to be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2018.
In Biomutant, you can customize your protagonist with mutations and mechanical body parts, and doing so impacts how the game handles and where you can go. You’ve got guns and swords at your disposal, along with weapon crafting.
One of the more important mechanics in the game is weapon crafting. The studio head suggested there are hundreds of thousands of different possible variations. These come from the fact that you can customize several different parts of a weapon. If you want to add different elemental damage types, or a crossbow add-on, you can do that.
And you’ll need those add-ons to survive in the highly frantic comic book style combat in Biomutant. You’ll be bouncing around on trees and mushrooms left and right as you dodge enemy fire. It’s all very much an even weirder Dark Souls.
The game also features a fully-realized and dynamic weather system that adds a layer of realism to the post-apocalyptic setting of Biomutant.
