Cities: Skylines – Green Cities – Release October 19th
Swedish Publisher Paradox Interactive and Finnish developer Colossal Order have announced that Cities: Skylines’ newest expansion, Green Cities, is poised to hit PC, Mac, and Linux on October 19.
Priced at $12.99 USD, the expansion will add over 350 new assets to the core game, including a massive selection of new visual options, complete with eco-friendly buildings, organic stores, new parks and services, all at the mayor’s disposal to finally rid the city of pollution once and for all.
This new expansion will add new edicts that allow players to control pollution at the district level as well. New laws can be passed banning combustion engines and enforcing electric vehicles for example. You could also help deal with pollution from industrial zones by implementing requirements for waste filtration and disposal. Of course, you’ll have to balance the costs of these new initiatives against the revenue your city generates.
New in-game services, scenarios, and policy options will help players combat noise, water, air and ground pollution.
There is currently no details on whether Green Cities is coming to either the PS4 or Xbox One versions of the game. As of March (which notably excludes the PS4 and Xbox One release), the title has sold 3.5 million copies, making it Paradox Interactive’s best-selling game ever.
